The following functions are
not intended to be called directly
from application programs. However, a contact programmer will use them to
define the basic behavior of a new contact
class.
Several functions in this contact programmer interface are generic functions for
which the <#624#><TT>contact</TT><#624#> class defines methods; these methods may be redefined or modified by the
contact programmer. In general, there are three types of functions which
are used primarily by contact programmers.
